Role Overview
vQsystems is looking for an experienced AI/ML Engineer to design, develop, and deploy intelligent systems and machine learning models that power next-generation applications.
You will collaborate closely with software, data, and research teams to implement scalable AI solutions, from experimentation and prototyping through to production deployment.
This role demands a blend of technical expertise, mathematical grounding, and an innovative mindset to transform complex data into intelligent insights and automated systems.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, and implement machine learning and deep learning algorithms for real-world applications.
- Build, train, and optimise models using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Work with structured and unstructured data, including text, images, and time-series data.
- Develop scalable data pipelines and ML model deployment systems (MLOps).
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate ML models into production environments.
- Evaluate model performance using statistical and ML metrics to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
- Stay up to date with AI/ML advancements, research papers, and emerging technologies.
- Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and cross-team collaboration for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in AI/ML model development and deployment.
- Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn.
- Solid understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
- Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, or Generative AI projects.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, or Docker).
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in agile teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with deep neural networks, transformers, or LLM fine-tuning.
- Background in AI safety, model interpretability, or AI for cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with Next.js / Django integration or data APIs (advantageous).
