Role Overview

Wherefour is seeking a full-time Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join us on our mission to impact the trillion $ manufacturing industry. You will have a unique opportunity to be part of the team and grow with us.

Wherefour is a B2B ERP platform for modern manufacturers. Ultimately, we help manufacturers of all types run their businesses more efficiently and profitably.

About the role:

This role will be compensated with market salary and equity. You will be part of the core team expanding our platform, implementing new features, building integrations to other platforms and expanding the capabilities of our product and business. The right person for us has the skills and experience to know what to do for the kinds of situations that products naturally experience as they hit different size and scale milestones.

Design is a key differentiator for our app. We are looking for the type of developer who appreciates that quality code + quality design = the kind of user experience that makes our product substantially different from the competition.

Responsibilities

You will need expert-level skills with Ruby on Rails, Postgres, and a little bit of javascript. Our codebase is complex (but clean) and fairly tech debt-free. When we say "expert-level", you are comfortable with what's happening behind the scenes with Rails and routinely dive into gems to understand how they actually work.

We host directly on AWS and keep gems to a minimum but do rely on: Stripe, Devise, Shrine and Sidekiq Enterprise. There is a steady stream of complex programming puzzles for us to solve, and you will have a strong voice in the evolution of our app.

Ideally, you have some familiarity with inventory, manufacturing, or warehousing concepts and some exposure to consumer packaged goods businesses.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of current experience with Ruby and Rails.
  • Based in the U.S. or Canada.
  • Bonus: some javascript knowledge, mostly in the form of stimulus.

Benefits

  • Healthcare (general + vision + dental + life)
  • Flexible PTO
  • Stock options
  • 401(k)
  • 100% remote work, no travel.
