Role Overview
About the Organization
PowerHouse Texas was established in 2022 by the Texas Energy and Climate Caucus to bridge the political divide and build consensus across the aisle around critical energy policy issues. PowerHouse Texas is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that educates and cultivates policy leaders to promote energy innovation, security and sustainability. We go beyond partisanship so policymakers, legislative staff, industry experts, innovators and public citizens can share solutions that will secure Texas’ position as a leader in energy and advance new technologies. PowerHouse Texas (501c3) equips Texas energy policy leaders through programs such as the Policy Fellowship, Energy Policy Advisory Council, Texas Energy Tour, Innovation Forums, and Energy Academy and creates opportunities for pragmatic, bipartisan dialogue grounded in real-world expertise.
Position Overview
PowerHouse Texas seeks an Events Specialist to join our small, dynamic team and lead the design, coordination and execution of events that shape Texas’s energy policy conversations.
This 6-month, full-time contract role (with potential for extension) will report to the Program Director. The Events Specialist will take ownership of logistics and implementation for direct-to-legislative educational events — including Innovation Forums, Energy Tours, the Energy Academy and virtual Caucus Briefings — from ideation to post-event follow-up.
The ideal candidate is a meticulous planner, creative problem-solver and natural people person who thrives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. You’re skilled at turning complex ideas into polished, well-run experiences that feel seamless to attendees — and you build genuine, positive relationships with everyone involved, from vendors and speakers to legislators and staff.
Location: Austin, Texas with regular in-person support for events and meetings in Austin, plus statewide travel for programs and tours
